The Studio Elective titled 'Dailies' looked at creating a series of quick-paced exercises designed to spur design thinking through a daily creative act situated within an articulated formal and conceptual framework.
I wanted to create simple portraits under the theme of 'Movember' which is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. But I wanted to keep the overall tone to be lighthearted and easy at the same time.
By cutting each portrait into half, I was able to create more diversity into the overall project. It also enabled the user to interact more and actually try and find a mix that they could probably relate to.In all, I made 18 portraits that I developed keeping all the different constraints listed above in mind. These were made with a round brush and indian ink.
