The Type, The Hype

Outcomes from a Graduate Typography course taught by Adam Lucas at the Maryland Institute College of Art. The first project was a hypothetical exhibition poster titled ‘Here And There’. This was followed by a Type Specimen for the libre fonts by Velvetyne Type Foundry that embodies the open source movement and philosophy. For the last project, we had to interpret the debate between Max Bill and Jan Tschichold in any publication format. I chose the format of a tabloid and used the letterforms, glyphs and colours in a playful yet sophisticated manner.
